Mustang

Mustangs are descendants of horses brought to the Americas by Spanish explorers, settlers, and missionaries in the 15th and 16th centuries. Over time, some of these horses escaped or were released, and they adapted to the harsh conditions of  the American West.‍

‍Mustangs are known for their ability to adapt to various environments, including arid deserts, mountains, and grasslands.They are found in the western United States, particularly in states like Nevada, Wyoming, Montana, Utah, and Oregon.‍

‍Mustangs come in various colors, including bay, black, chestnut, and roan. They can have a variety of markings and patterns. They are typically small to medium-sized horses, ranging from 13 to 15 hands (52 to 60 inches) at the shoulder.

Mustangs exhibit hardiness, endurance, and resilience, traits that have developed through natural selection in their challenging environments.

Mustangs are known for their strong herding instincts and social behavior. They often form bands, which consist of a dominant stallion, mares, and their offspring. These horses have a reputation for being surefooted and agile, traits that have evolved as adaptations to the rugged terrain they inhabit.
